"Happy Moments"
Happy moments. I wonder what a happy moment could be for me and for you? A split second that you would like to preserve in your own memory as a photograph. A pleasant feeling of shared satisfaction.
I traveled through Denmark and Sweden in my van in the summer of 2023. Along the way, I was able to experience a whole series of such moments. But what do all these experiences have in common?
FIKA. In Sweden, fika means taking a break from an activity to eat something baked with family and friends. Traditionally, this pastry is cinnamon rolls. However, my enormous enthusiasm for sweets is completely irrelevant. I enjoy the slower pace of getting together, which opens up time for mutual exchange. Sharing stories, perceptions, emotions and sometimes bad jokes.
I would like to capture this moment of happiness and this feeling on my scarf for the Fidea competition.

Immerse yourself in another world – who doesn’t love that?
Be part of a diverse community of underwater inhabitants in the lake next door, Lake Lucerne.
My artistic intervention “Unterem Unterwalden” invites you to look at your surroundings from a different perspective, like in Alice in Wonderland, and for a short or long moment, when you look out of your office window or stroll along the pedestrian zone, to dissolve your own humanity and be absorbed into an underwater world where duck and swan say goodnight to each other.
concept and structural considerations
My concept was, on the one hand, to use the motif of a busy underwater world in Lake Lucerne to highlight and celebrate the biodiversity and diversity in this local body of water. On the other hand, the narrative staging of the underwater inhabitants gives the motif a playful and dreamy note that forms a harmonious contrast to the industrial and urban surroundings and complements them. The pixelated, "Chrüzlistich" representation of what is shown enables an abstract, calming world of colors up close and reveals the entire motif from a greater distance. This embroidery pattern is also a reference to the textile history of the Viscosi district.
It was important to me to respect and incorporate the structural and surrounding conditions, which is why I decided to paint the facade, which is easy to implement using the pixel grid of the "Chrüzlistich" method. I also made sure that the facade was attractive from the perspective of the pedestrian zone, the office and the apartments, so that motifs such as a fish or swan are clearly visible at every level or height. I chose a calm sea green as the background or water color, which also has a pleasant flat effect when viewed from an office window.
